Learn the Principals of Lean through NASCAR PIT Training!

For years, businesses from around the country have sent their executives to the Performance Instruction & Training (PIT) facility located deep in the heart of NASCAR country to learn the concepts of lean manufacturing. A one-of-a-kind combination of classroom presentation, discussion, and actual pit crew

What is Lean Performance U?
Lean Performance U is an experiential learning program using motor sports racing and pit
stops as tools for teaching the concepts of continuous improvement, efficiency, preparation and teambuilding. Using a combination of classroom education and hands-on experiential learning, Lean Performance U addresses such topics as communication, role responsibility, creative
thinking, and work performance through the easy to understand examples provided by the
pit stop experience.

Whether you are a new employee or an executive-- all levels of the corporate ladder are welcome to participate. Individuals from a wide variety of industries (manufacturing, maintenance, healthcare, management, administrative/office, sales, military) who seek

Course Outline
Day one
The first day includes an orientation in high performance motorsports (you need not be a fan to appreciate their skills!) followed by an afternoon event when you become a pit crew member. During the activity, you will encounter various scenarios similar to the challenges faced by every industry: i.e. increase output and quality while simultaneously decreasing cost and time.
Day two
Starts by visiting an actual race shop where you see lean principles in action. Later, you become the “coach”, watching and evaluating video footage of your pit stop performance. The day concludes with discussing how to apply lean principles in your business in order to improve production, decrease time, reduce work-in process inventory, improve quality, reduce floor space and increase profit.
