SCMEP, Clemson University YLI To Launch New Training Series for State’s Manufacturing Workforce

May 31, 2022

GREENVILLE, S.C. (May 31, 2022) — Responding to a growing need identified by manufacturing industry leaders in South Carolina, the South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (SCMEP) and Clemson University Youth Learning Institute (CUYLI) have established a partnership to serve and support the state’s existing and emerging manufacturing workforce.

SCMEP is a non-profit solutions provider for the manufacturing community in South Carolina. A segment of SCMEP’s portfolio of services includes regular in-person training sessions to support skill development within the manufacturing workforce. CUYLI provides training through CUYLI ThinkShops™, whose mission is to empower individuals and teams to achieve their personal and professional best.

Through this partnership, SCMEP and CUYLI ThinkShops™ will deliver a series of training courses scheduled to begin in Greenville in September 2022. The Empowering Your Employee training series is designed to provide mission-critical professional communication and team collaboration skills for both entry-level and experienced employees.

Industry leaders across South Carolina’s manufacturing industry say such skills have become essential for their companies. From innovation to employee retention to sales and marketing, manufacturers who develop a culture of effective communication and collaboration have a decided advantage in the marketplace. The new training series will be designed to help employees develop and infuse their companies with these skills.
