CMMC Certification May Be on Pause—But Cybersecurity Readiness Shouldn’t Be

The Department of War’s suspension of CMMC Phase II requirements has shifted the timeline, but cybersecurity remains critical for manufacturers serving the defense supply chain. The pause allows for further review—it does not eliminate the need for strong cybersecurity practices. For manufacturers, this is an opportunity to prepare, not wait.

In addition, information will be provided on the new South Carolina Cybersecurity Assistance Program (SC-CAP4).  This program provides funding and assistance for South Carolina manufacturers operating in the DoD supply chains to prepare for compliance with the requirements of CMMC. The program helps SC manufacturers assess their current state, prioritize improvements, and develop a practical roadmap toward CMMC Level 2 compliance.
