CMMC 2.0 – An Update Webinar

March 4, 2024

On December 26, 2023, the Department of Defense (DoD) released the new Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) as a proposed rule. Although the DoD contracting regulations have included cybersecurity provisions for many years, the majority of DoD contractors have not incorporated the required information security controls in their businesses. As a result, CMMC adds a verification component to the regulations in the form of reporting scores to an official DoD portal, certification assessments by a 3rd party and affirmations from business leaders. CMMC applies to companies that receive Federal Contract Information (FCI) or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) from DoD.

Please join the South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (SCMEP) and Purdue MEP for an informative webinar session.

We will discuss:

  • The key elements of the CMMC Proposed Rule
  • Who must comply and the timeline to do so
  • Resources to support implementation of the required cybersecurity controls

In addition, information will be provided on the South Carolina Cybersecurity Assistance Program (SC-CAP).  This program provides the funding and assistance for South Carolina manufacturers operating in the DoD supply chain contractors to comply with the requirements of CMMC.
