Cybersecurity Assistance Program (SC-CAP) Phase 3

For South Carolina Manufacturers

What is the Program?

Provides funding and assistance for South Carolina Manufacturers seeking to improve their cybersecurity and data security posture and to become compliant with a range of cybersecurity standards.

Who should seek this certification?

Manufacturers with a physical location in SC for at least one year, and have at least four or more full-time employees.

How much does it cost?

A grant from SC Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) covers up to 90% of the costs for your company. Typical investment will be $3,000 or less.

How long does it take to complete?

Most companies will take about 3 months to complete the program. All work must be completed by June 30, 2025.

Why It Matters

Cybersecurity and the secure management of information is becoming increasingly important to all manufacturers of all sizes. This program is designed to provide resources to small and medium-sized manufacturers that lack the resources and technical knowledge to design, develop, implement, and maintain information security systems that comply with the following standards:

NIST SP 800-171

Successful Completion

This program is funded through the South Carolina Department of Employment & Workforce (DEW) and is being coordinated and delivered by the South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (SCMEP).

After successfully completing this program, your company will:

Be able to demonstrate compliance with one or more of the standards listed above.

Completed a Gap Assessment.

Developed a Plan Of Actions and Milestones (POAM).

Developed and implemented a System Security Plan (SSP).

Developed updated cybersecurity policies and procedures.

Reduced risk against cyberthreats.
