On April 19, 1996, SCMEP was established as a standalone nonprofit organization under the name South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership.
Over the past three decades, South Carolina has become a manufacturing powerhouse—driven by the ingenuity of its workforce, the vision of its policymakers, and the determination of its business leaders. As part of the national MEP Network, SCMEP has been at the forefront of supporting small and mid-sized manufacturers across the state, helping them adopt best practices, improve performance, maintain compliance, and achieve profitable, sustainable growth.
As we reflect on the past 30 years, SCMEP remains committed to doing what’s right for our clients and taking a holistic approach to improvement. Our passion for manufacturing continues to guide us as we focus on solutions that address core challenges and deliver lasting impact.
