SCMEP’s Quality Essentials Program (QEP) is designed to address the growing need for skilled quality workers in manufacturing. Taught by a seasoned quality expert, the QEP program provides training on essential quality concepts, tools, and tasks. Each workshop is held once a week over a consecutive five-week period.

 

Day 1: Workplace Skills – February 12

Learn the core professional skills relevant to working in a manufacturing environment, including effective communication and conflict management.

Day 2: Quality Management Systems and Basic Audit Principles – February 19

Learn the basics of Quality Management Systems and audit principles used when conducting audits of quality systems.

Day 3: Error Proofing Basics – February 26

Learn the fundamentals of implementing error proofing mechanisms to mitigate risk of recurrence. Gain an understanding of how Cost of Quality impacts an organization.

Day 4: Quality Tools & Techniques – March 5

Learn and apply the seven basic quality tools.

Day 5: Problem Solving – March 12

Use the seven basic quality tools to solve problems.  Learn problem solving techniques including problem definition and root cause analysis.

 

Who Should Attend?

The QEP Program is designed to provide manufacturing employees with more in-depth exposure to quality tools and concepts and their importance to an organization’s long-term success. Manufacturing operators, leads, Supervisors, or quality technicians would benefit from this curated group of courses.
