Summary
In this episode, we are speaking with Robin Blackburn, Technical AP External Training Manager at Michelin.
Michelin has a strong commitment to developing people, including their maintenance technicians. They have a dedicated training school for maintenance technicians that has been in operation for over 45 years and, over the past 3 years, has been providing external training programs for employees from other manufacturing companies as a part of The Talent Campus Michelin program. Designed to elevate the skill base of manufacturers in South Carolina, this program is an exemplary model of community outreach put into practice.
These training courses focus on technical competencies such as electrical troubleshooting and mechanical hand skills. Provided by highly experienced Michelin instructors, these training courses have been well-received and have generated success stories of students successfully applying what they learned in their workplaces. The training programs are highly intensive and hands-on, and the instructors provide detailed assessments and feedback to help students continue their skill development beyond the close of the training course.
